Who we are

Recall Weekly is operated by Moss and Metric LLC (“we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and us. By using Recall Weekly — the website, the emails, or a paid subscription — you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

What Recall Weekly is

Recall Weekly is an alert service that aggregates publicly available product recall information from U.S. federal agencies — the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA FSIS), and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) — and emails relevant alerts to subscribers.

No guarantee of completeness or timeliness

We pull data from publicly available agency feeds and do our best to surface every relevant recall. We make no guarantee that our coverage is complete, timely, or error-free. Federal agency feeds occasionally have outages, lag, or classification gaps that we cannot detect. For the authoritative record, always consult the originating agency:

Recall Weekly is a supplement to vigilance, not a replacement. Use it alongside, not instead of, your own judgment and the agencies' own notification channels.

Not medical, legal, or professional advice

Recall Weekly summarizes what federal agencies have published about a recall. We are not your doctor, lawyer, or pediatrician. If a recall mentions a product you use and you're unsure how to act, contact the manufacturer using the consumer contact information in the original agency notice, consult an appropriate professional, or contact the agency directly.

Plain-English summaries

We rewrite agency text into plain English to make it easier to act on. Summaries, classifications, and matches are produced with automated tools, including AI, and may abbreviate, simplify, or misstate the original. Every recall links to the agency's original notice. If our text and the original notice ever conflict, the original notice is authoritative.

Your account

You must be at least 13 to use Recall Weekly, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to buy a subscription. Keep access to your email account secure — anyone who can read your email can sign in to your Recall Weekly account. You can unsubscribe with the link in any email, and delete your account at any time from your account page.

Paid subscriptions

Always-on subscriptions are sold through Polar, our payment processor and merchant of record. Polar handles billing, taxes, receipts, and refunds under its own terms, and its receipt emails include a link to manage or cancel your subscription. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. If you cancel, you keep Always-on until the end of the period you've paid for. We'll give you notice by email before any price change applies to you.

Acceptable use

Don't try to disrupt the service, get around its rate limits or bot protection, access other people's accounts, or use it to send unsolicited messages. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recall Weekly is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We are not liable for any damages arising from use of the service, including but not limited to damages arising from missed recalls, delayed alerts, classification errors, or data omissions, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

To the extent we are liable despite the above, our total liability for all claims relating to Recall Weekly is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose or US $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which we are organized, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to Recall Weekly will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in that state, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change, and we'll tell subscribers about material changes by email or on the site before they take effect. Continued use of Recall Weekly after that constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
