CPSC, Haro Bicycle Corp. Announce Recall of Bicycles

Haro Bicycle Corp., of Vista, Calif.
Hazard

The length of the crank arm in the 2003 model fails to allow sufficient space between the rider's foot and the front wheel, when the front wheel is turned backwards. The rider's foot could come in contact with the front wheel, causing the rider to lose control, fall and possibly suffer serious injury.

Remedy
Consumers should stop using the recalled bicycles immediately and contact Haro to learn where to take their bicycles to have the crankset replaced free of charge.
Sold at
Independent bicycle shops nationwide sold these bicycles, from May 2002 through August 2002, for between $190 and $200.

About 1,100
Injuries reported
Haro has not received any reports of incidents or injuries. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury.
