CPSC, Discovery Toys Announce Recall of Children's Toy Phones
Discovery Toys Inc., of Livermore, Calif.
Hazard
The blue, hard plastic antenna ball can break off the toy phone, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Remedy
Consumers should stop using the toy phone immediately and call Discovery Toys for a free repair kit. Purchasers were sent direct mail notification of this recall.
Sold at
The toy phones were sold nationwide through Discovery Toys sales network. They were sold in the U.S. and Canada, from May 1999 through November 2000, for about $10, and have since been discontinued.

About 57,000
Injuries reported
Discovery Toys received eight reports of the antenna ball breaking off the toy phones. No injuries have been reported.
