CPSC, Next Level Communications Announce Recall of Power Supply for Computer Modems

Hazard

The power supply has an internal electrical component that could overheat and melt or deform the plastic housing, posing a thermal burn hazard.

Remedy
Consumers with a recalled power supply should immediately stop using the power supply and contact Next Level Communications to request a replacement power supply.
Sold at
ADSL/VDSL ETHERsets with a recalled power supply were sold nationwide, from February 1999 to May 2001, for a suggested retail price between $225 and $250.

There have been 8 reports of these power supplies overheating and causing melted or damaged enclosures. No injuries have been reported.
