CPSC, Eveready Battery Co. Inc. Announce Recall of Kidz Club Flashlights
Eveready Battery Co. Inc., of St. Louis, Mo.
Hazard
The flashlights can overheat and cause the batteries to leak, posing a risk of burns to children.
Remedy
Consumers should take these flashlights away from children immediately and remove the batteries and contact Eveready for instructions on returning the flashlights and receiving a $12 refund.
Sold at
Discount department and toy stores sold these flashlights nationwide, from April 2002 through October 2002, for about $6.

About 24,000
Injuries reported
Eveready has received three reports of the flashlights overheating, including one report of a 4-year-old boy receiving a minor burn to his hand.
