CPSC, Madrigal Announce Recall of Subwoofers

Madrigal Audio Laboratories, Inc., of Middletown, Conn.
Hazard

A screw inside of the subwoofer can cause a high voltage short, which could cause a severe injury to consumers, through an electric shock.

Remedy
Consumers should not touch the rear panel, use the power switch, or remove the power cord or any connections from the back of the unit until it is repaired.
Sold at
Specialty audio dealers sold the subwoofers nationwide and in Puerto Rico, from January 2001 through October 2002, for about $3,000.

Madrigal has received one report of electric shock; though, no injuries have been reported.
