CPSC, Trudeau Corp. Announce Recall of Fondue Sets

Trudeau Corp., of Woodridge, Ill.
Hazard

The plastic handles that are attached to the fondue pots can melt and crack during heating on a range top, posing burn and fire hazards to consumers.

Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop using the fondue set and contact Trudeau to receive a replacement fondue pot with handles that will not melt or crack, and an incentive gift set of six stoneware fork rests.
Sold at
Bed, Bath and Beyond stores nationwide sold the fondue sets, from August 2001 through July 2002, for about $20.

Trudeau has received 13 reports of the plastic handles breaking or melting, which involve 6 reports of burn injuries to hands, feet, and other body parts.
