CPSC, Amen Wardy Home Announce Recall of Multi-purpose Lighters Shaped Like Matchsticks
Amen Wardy Home, of Las Vegas, Nev.
Hazard
The lighters lack child-resistant mechanisms that meet federal safety standards. Young children could operate these lighters, which poses a fire hazard.
Remedy
Contact Amen Wardy Home for instructions on how to obtain a refund for these lighters. Dispose of the lighters in a manner that is in compliance with all state and local requirements. The lighter should not be incinerated or punctured.
Sold at
The Amen Wardy Home store in Caesar's Palace, in Las Vegas, Nev., and the firm's Web site sold these lighters, from July 2002 through January 2003, for between $10 and $20.
