Monarch Velo, LLC, doing business as Catlike USA, of Houston, Texas
Hazard
The helmets fail impact testing required under CPSC's safety standard for bicycle helmets, violating the Consumer Product Safety Act.
Remedy
Monarch Velo is no longer in business and has no product or ability to refund the consumers purchase price. Consumers can either get another type of helmet from the retailer they purchased the helmet from, or contact Catlike in Spain, who was the manufacturer of the helmets.
Sold at
Bicycle shops nationwide sold the helmets, from March 2002 through February 2003, for about $130.
