CPSC, Evercel Announce Recall of Nickel Zinc Battery Chargers
Evercel Inc., of Hingham, Mass.
Hazard
Internal electrical components of the battery chargers can overheat, posing a fire hazard.
Remedy
Consumers should stop using these battery chargers immediately and discard them in accordance with local laws.
Sold at
Cabella's mail order catalogs and web site sold these battery chargers as part of their Evercel Model MOD100-7C Trolling Battery system, from August 2002 through September 2002, for about $299.

Injuries reported
There have been three reports of these battery chargers overheating and melting, causing minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.
