CPSC, Speedway SuperAmerica LLC Announce Recall of "Speedway" Cigarette Lighters

Hazard

The flame can flare up or the lighter can catch fire when ignited, posing risks of unexpected fires and burn injuries.

Remedy
Consumers should stop using these lighters immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund.
Sold at
Speedway SuperAmerica and Rich convenience stores from July 2005 through October 5, 2005 for about $1 each.

Injuries reported
Speedway SuperAmerica LLC has received six reports of incidents involving flare-ups on these lighters. Burn injuries to the head, hair, face and hand have been reported.
