CPSC, Kawasaki Motors Corp. U.S.A. Announce Recall of All-Terrain Vehicles

Hazard

Tie rod separation caused by either wear or severe impact can occur during operation, causing the front wheel to separate from the steering control. Separation of the tie rod can cause the rider to lose control of the ATV, resulting in a serious injury or death to the rider.

Remedy
Consumers with recalled ATVs were sent direct notice from Kawasaki. Consumers should stop using these ATVs immediately and contact a local Kawasaki dealer to schedule an appointment for a free repair.
Sold at
Kawasaki dealers nationwide from June 2004 through November 2005 for between $7,600 and $7,900.

Injuries reported
Kawasaki has received about 140 reports of tie rod problems, resulting in four reports of injuries.
