Children's Butterfly Necklaces Recalled by U.S. Toy Co. Due to Lead Poisoning Hazard
U.S. Toy Co. Inc., of Grandview, Mo.
Hazard
The clasps on the necklaces contain high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
Remedy
Consumers should immediately take the recalled jewelry away from children and return the necklaces to the store where purchased for a free replacement product, or contact U.S. Toy Company for information on returning recalled necklaces purchased on the Web site.
Sold at
U.S. Toy Co. retail stores, at www.ustoy.com, children's, and small discount stores nationwide from October 2005 through November 2006 for about $4 per dozen.
