Gevalia Recalls Kaffe Combo Coffeemakers Due to Burn Hazard

Hazard
The heating element can melt the plastic outer shell, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop using the coffeemaker and contact Gevalia for a free replacement coffeemaker. Those consumers who purchased the coffeemaker will be offered the option of receiving a refund. Gevalia is contacting all registered consumers directly.
Sold at
The recalled coffeemaker was distributed directly to consumers who joined the Gevalia Kaffe program, and through catalog sales from September 2006 through January 2007. The coffeemakers are valued at about $90.

Injuries reported
Gevalia has received 28 reports of overheated coffeemakers, including 12 reports of damaged counter tops, and one report of a minor burn from spilled coffee.
