MTD Recalls Utility Vehicles Due to Fire Hazard

MTD, of Brownsville, Tenn.
Hazard

Excessive heat can cause the wiring harness to melt. This defect can result in a fire hazard to consumers.

Remedy
Consumers should stop using these vehicles immediately and contact their Cub Cadet dealership to have their utility vehicle serviced at no charge. All known consumers have been contacted. Each reworked utility vehicle has a green "X" label on the model/serial tag.
Sold at
Cub Cadet dealerships and Bass Pro retail outlets nationwide under the Cub Cadet brand name from March 2008 through April 2008 for between $9,700 and $10,500.

MTD has received five reports of heat damage to the vehicle. There have been no reports of personal injury.
