Frontrow Recalls to Replace Rechargeable Batteries Sold with PA System Microphones Due to Burn Hazard

Hazard
The batteries can rapidly overheat, posing a burn hazard to the user.
Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled batteries and contact their FrontRow agent to receive free replacement batteries. Alkaline batteries can be used while waiting for replacement batteries. All known purchasers have been contacted about the recall.
Sold at
Frontrow distributors nationwide from June 2005 through December 2008 for about $7 for the battery only and about $300 when sold with the transmitter.

Injuries reported
The firm has received four reports of batteries overheating during use in wireless public announcement systems and microphones. No injuries have been reported.
