Tabletop Rope Cutters Recalled by MarineTech Products Due to Fire and Burn Hazards
MarineTech Products Inc., of White Bear Lake, Minn.
Hazard
The recalled rope cutters can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.
Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop using the rope cutters and contact MarineTech to receive a free replacement rope cutter. MarineTech is directly contacting purchasers of this product.
Sold at
West Marine stores nationwide from December 2006 through April 2009 for about $100.

The firm has received four reports of the rope cutters overheating. No injuries or property damage have been reported.
