NexTorch Recalls Flashlight Batteries Due to Fire Hazard
NexTorch, Inc., of Mukiteo, Wash.
Hazard
Batteries can overheat and rupture, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.
Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop use of the battery and contact NexTorch for instructions on how to receive a free replacement.
Sold at
Firearm dealers and law enforcement supply stores, and on the Web, including amazon.com and the firm's website www.nextorch.com, from July 2007 to July 2011 for about $2 per battery.

There has been one report of NexTorch NT123A flashlight batteries rupturing and catching fire, causing burns to the consumer's body, clothes and vehicle.
