Electric Motion Systems, LLC Recalls Lithium-Poly Battery Pack Due to Fire Hazard

The battery can overheat and catch fire.

Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop using the battery packs. Dispose of the battery packs according to federal, state and/or local regulations. The firm is out of business and a remedy is no longer available.
Sold at
Bike shops nationwide and the company's website, from October 2009 through November 2010. Batteries sold for between $900 and $1,000 and the E+ Flex Kits were sold for between $2,325 and $2,675.

The company was aware of three reports of the battery catching fire. One incident resulted in a consumer receiving minor burns.
