GNU Snowboard Bindings Recalled by Mervin Manufacturing Due to Fall Hazard

The ankle straps can break posing a fall hazard.

Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop using the bindings and contact Mervin Manufacturing for instructions for receiving free replacement straps.
Sold at
Specialty Sports Inc., REI and other national, small chain and independent sporting goods stores, and online at www.backcountry.com and www.mervin.com from August 2012 to March 2013 for between $125 and $310.

About 6,800 pairs in the U.S. and 1,200 in Canada
Injuries reported
The firm has received 30 reports of the binding straps breaking. No injuries were reported.
