John Deere Recalls Compact Utility Tractors Due to Risk of Serious Injury or Death (Recall Alert)

Hazard

The spring locking pins in the rollover protective system (ROPS) can break and cause the ROPs to fail in the event of a rollover. This presents a risk of serious injury or death to the operator.

Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop using the compact utility vehicles and contact a John Deere dealer for a free repair. John Deere is contacting all registered owners of the recalled compact utility tractors directly.
Sold at
John Deere dealers nationwide from February 2013 through July 2013 for between $11,500 and $35,700.

Injuries reported
John Deere received three reports of broken spring locking pins and identified two failed spring locking pins in the manufacturing assembly process. The firm has received no reports of injuries.
