Hearth & Home Technologies Recalls Pellet Stoves and Inserts Due to Laceration Hazard

Hazard
Fuel can back up, creating unstable combustion and a pressure build up inside the firebox and glass can break, posing a laceration hazard.
Remedy
Consumers should stop using the unit, turn the small blue dial on the stove or insert to the -4 position and follow the daily maintenance requirements in the owner's manual. They should contact the retailer where the unit was purchased to arrange for free installation of an enhanced control board. The firm's dealers are contacting known purchasers.

Stove stores from February 2014 through January 2015 for about $4,000.
