S.R. Smith Recalls Pool Lifts Due to Fall Hazard

Hazard

Welds securing the lift base plate and/or mast can break, posing a fall hazard.

Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled pool lifts and contact S.R. Smith for a free replacement base and/or mast assembly.

Pool product distributors, including Baystate Pool Supplies, Recreonics, and SCP Distributors nationwide and online at intheswim.com from January 2013 through September 2015 for between $6,000 and $9,750.

About 1,800 Splash! and 40 PAL Hi/Lo and Spa lifts
Injuries reported
The firm received reports of two incidents in which the lift fell over due to inadequate welds in the base plate or mast. One incident occurred when a person was seated in the lift chair. No injuries have been reported.
