Black Diamond Recalls to Inspect Carabiners Due to Fall Hazard

The carabiner can unexpectedly open and allow the rope to become detached, posing a risk of injury or death to climbers from a fall.

Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled carabineers and contact Black Diamond for instructions on inspecting and returning the product for a free replacement. Instructions are also available on the firm's website.
Sold at
Eastern Mountain Sports, The Gear Coop, Hansen Mountaineering, REI and other specialty outdoor stores nationwide and online at Backcountry.com, BlackDiamond.com and Bouldering.com from December 2014 to January 2016 for between $6 and $15.
