Shenzhen Shijingjie male-to-male extension cords recalled for electrocution and carbon monoxide hazards
Stop using recalled male-to-male extension cords
Shenzhen Shijingjie male-to-male extension cords (model RY-US-06 and RY_US-1.5) sold on Walmart.com have exposed live prongs that can cause electrocution. These cords are sometimes used to connect generators to home outlets during power outages, which can backfeed electricity into the home's wiring and create fire risk. Their short length also encourages generators to run near homes or indoors, risking carbon monoxide poisoning.
- Stop using the cords immediately. Do not touch the live end when unplugging.
- Look for model numbers RY-US-06 or RY_US-1.5 on your purchase receipt or the product.
- Contact Shenzhen Shijingjie Network Technology for a full refund.

The recalled male-to-male extension cords violate safety requirements because their exposed prongs can become energized when one end is plugged into a generator or other power source, posing a risk of serious injury and death from electrocution. In addition, using the cords to supply power from a generator to a residential electrical system (backfeeding) poses a risk of electrocution and fire. The cords' short length encourages the use of generators close to homes or enclosed spaces, posing a risk of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.
