Misco Sports Light-Up Racket Set recalled for battery ingestion hazard
Misco Sports Light-Up Racket Set recalled for battery hazard
The battery compartment screw on these rackets does not stay attached when opened, allowing children to easily access button cell batteries inside the shuttlecock. Swallowed button cell or coin batteries can cause serious internal injuries, including chemical burns, and can be fatal.
- Stop using the racket set immediately and remove the shuttlecock from children's reach.
- Contact Missry Associates at toys@misco.us for a full refund.
- Dispose of the racket set and shuttlecock in the trash, then send a photo to toys@misco.us.
- Dispose of or recycle batteries separately following local hazardous waste procedures.

The racket sets violate the mandatory standard for toys because the screw on the racket used to secure the battery compartment does not remain attached when opened, and the button cell batteries in the shuttlecock can be easily accessed by children. If button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, including internal chemical burns, and death.
