Vornado SRTH small room tower heaters recalled for fire hazard from detaching fan blade
Vornado SRTH tower heaters recalled for fire hazard
The fan blade in Vornado SRTH tower heaters can detach from the motor shaft, causing the fan to slow or stop. This leads to overheating and melting of internal parts, which can ignite and cause a fire if the safety cutoff fails. Vornado has received 32 reports of overheating, including 8 fires and 1 smoke inhalation.
- Stop using the heater immediately.
- Contact Vornado for a full refund. You'll need to submit photos and proof of destruction.
- Look for "TYPE SRTH" on the silver label on the bottom of the unit to confirm you have a recalled model.
