Kawasaki Teryx4 H2 and Teryx5 H2 recalled for sheave breakage
The drive converter sheave in certain 2026 Kawasaki Teryx4 H2 and Teryx5 H2 off-road vehicles can break during operation, releasing metal fragments into the engine compartment. Kawasaki has received 19 reports of this issue, though no injuries have been reported yet.
- Stop using the vehicle immediately if you own a 2026 Teryx4 H2 or Teryx5 H2 (model numbers KRT1000D, KRT1000F, or KRT1000G).
- Check your vehicle's VIN on the right rear of the main frame to confirm if it is affected.
- Contact an authorized Kawasaki dealer to schedule a free repair, which includes replacing the sheave assembly, installing a cover guard, and reprogramming the engine control unit.
- Kawasaki is contacting all known owners directly.

The drive converter sheave can break in certain circumstances, resulting in metal fragments being discharged within the engine compartment and surrounding area, posing impact and injury hazards.
Remedy
Consumers should stop using the recalled vehicles immediately and contact a Kawasaki dealer to schedule a free repair. A technician will replace the moveable clutch sheave assembly, install a clutch cover guard and reprogram the Engine Control Unit (ECU) on the vehicle. Kawasaki is contacting all known purchasers directly.
