Medline's semi-electric homecare beds have hand control pendants that may overheat and catch fire in rare cases—for example, if the bed is overloaded, blocked, or jammed. The company has received 58 reports of the pendant sparking, burning, melting, or smoking.
- Check if you own Medline Semi Electric Basic Homecare Bed (REF MDR107002E or MDR107002E-4).
- Stop using the hand pendant immediately.
- Contact Medline Industries for a replacement pendant or repair instructions.
- Do not operate the bed beyond its weight limit or use it if movement is blocked or jammed.
Medline Industries has identified a potential hazard involving the hand control pendant and associated wires. In rare and atypical scenarios such as operating the bed above its specified weight limit, encountering an obstruction to bed movement, or experiencing jammed components/motor the hand pendant and pendant cords may overheat and, in rare instances, pose a risk of fire. Medline Industries, LP has received a total of (58) complaints associated with reports of pendant sparking, burning, melting, smoking or fire.
