Hospira is recalling one lot of Marcaine (bupivacaine) injection because some vials contain visible metal particles embedded in the glass and discolored solution. This batch was distributed nationwide. No injuries have been reported.
- Check your inventory for lot #33-545-DD with expiration date 09/15
- Do not use any vials from this lot
- Contact your Hospira representative or call for instructions on return or disposal
- Alert your pharmacy or medical facility's recall coordinator immediately

Presence of Particulate Matter: Confirmed customer complaint of discolored solution with visible metal particles embedded in the glass vial and visible in the solution.
