First & Last Tavern Puttanesca Sauce may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium that can cause serious food poisoning. The affected product is a 26 fl oz jar with olives, capers, and hot peppers, with an expiration date of 09/26. About 30 cases were distributed in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
- Do not eat or serve this puttanesca sauce.
- Check your pantry for jars with expiration date 09/26.
- Throw away any affected product or return it to the store where you bought it.
- Contact your doctor if you have eaten this sauce and experience muscle weakness, difficulty swallowing, or difficulty breathing.
