Dorman gearshift cable bushing may detach, causing rollaway
A plastic bushing on certain Dorman transmission gearshift cables can separate from the linkage. This can prevent your vehicle from shifting into Park properly, which may allow the car to roll away unexpectedly.
- Watch for a letter from Dorman starting June 19, 2026 with inspection instructions
- Call Dorman customer service at 1-800-523-2492 if you own an affected vehicle or need help sooner
- Do not ignore warning signs: difficulty shifting gears or feeling loose in the shifter
- The replacement bushing and inspection are free
Hazard
The inability to shift into "Park" can result in a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dorman will provide inspection instructions and replacement bushings, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 19, 2026. Owners may contact Dorman customer service at 1-800-523-2492. Dorman's number for this recall is GC0426XXXXX.
