Hale Weldon UV800 Display Unit recalled for touch screen failure
The touch screen display in certain Hale Weldon UV800 Display Units may stop responding or fail to power on. This prevents activation of exterior emergency lights and other emergency equipment, which can reduce vehicle visibility to other drivers and delay emergency response.
- Contact Hale customer service at 1-800-533-4569 or reference recall number SB-189.
- Hale will provide a free firmware update and install a monitoring system.
Hazard
A loss of exterior lights can reduce the visibility of the vehicle to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. Inoperative equipment can delay emergency response, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy
Hale will update the firmware and install a monitor system, free of charge. Hale is expected to notify the affected vehicle manufacturers May 17, 2026. Owners may contact Hale customer service at 1-800-533-3569. Hale's number for this recall is SB-189.
