Hiab K-HiPro 425 and 505 cranes recalled for crane column collapse risk
What this means
Hiab is recalling certain K-HiPro 425 and K-HiPro 505 cranes because the weld between the column pillar and main plate can fatigue and crack over time during operation. A cracked weld may cause the crane column to collapse, posing an injury risk to operators and nearby workers.
- If you own one of the affected cranes, Hiab will inspect your crane's operating data and replace the column if necessary, at no cost.
- For cranes that don't need replacement after inspection, Hiab will monitor the column regularly and replace it if needed.
- Contact Hiab customer service at (844) 442-2911 if you have questions; owner notification letters were mailed on September 11, 2026.
