What this means
Water can enter the electric power steering wiring harness in certain Chrysler MOPAR body and jumper wiring harnesses, disabling power steering assist. Loss of power steering makes the vehicle harder to steer and increases crash risk.
- Watch for a recall notification letter from Chrysler (expected November 17, 2026).
- Contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403 or reference recall number 93D.
- Take your vehicle to a Chrysler dealer for free inspection and replacement of the wiring harness and power steering gear if needed.
The agency's original wording
A loss of power steering assist can increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect and replace the wiring harness and electronic power steering gear, as necessary, free of charge. Dealers will repurchase uninstalled wiring harnesses. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed November 17, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 93D.
