Kuat Innovations Pivot V3 swing-away hitch adapter recalled for cross beam detachment risk

The hitch tube weld on certain Kuat Pivot V3 swing-away hitch adapters can crack, causing the cross beam to detach. A detached cross beam can become a road hazard and increase the risk of crashes for other vehicles.
- Check if you own a Pivot V3 hitch adapter with part number PV3D20B or PV3P20B.
- Contact Kuat customer service at 1-417-889-5820 to verify your hitch and arrange a free replacement.
- Do not use the hitch adapter until it has been replaced if you believe it is affected.

A detached cross beam can become a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Kuat will replace the hitch adapter, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 1, 2026. Owners may contact Kuat customer service at 1- 417-889-5820.
