Don't eat Snapp's Ferry ground beef
Snapp's Ferry Packing Company recalled approximately 410 pounds of ground beef produced on November 20, 2015, because it may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. The contaminated meat was distributed to restaurants in the Knoxville, Tennessee area. The problem was discovered on January 19, 2016, after positive test results linked the contamination to this facility.
- Do not eat ground beef from Snapp's Ferry Packing Company with a pack date of Nov. 20, 2015, and establishment number EST. 9085 on the USDA inspection seal.
- If you have this product, throw it away or return it to the restaurant.
- Seek immediate medical care if you experience bloody diarrhea, severe abdominal pain, or dehydration within 2–8 days of eating the recalled meat.
- Cook all ground beef to an internal temperature of 160°F to kill harmful bacteria.
