Cargill egg substitute products recalled for potential cleaning solution contamination

Don't consume Cargill egg beaters or Bob Evans egg substitute

Cargill Kitchen Solutions is recalling approximately 212,000 pounds of liquid egg substitute products that may contain a cleaning solution with sodium hypochlorite. The affected products were produced on March 12–13, 2025, and include Egg Beaters and Bob Evans brands sold in multiple states. USDA scientists determined the contamination risk is minimal, but the company is removing the products from shelves as a precaution.

  • Check your refrigerator or freezer for the recalled Egg Beaters or Bob Evans egg substitute products with use-by dates through August 10, 2025.
  • Do not consume these products.
  • Discard the product or return it to where you purchased it.
  • Contact Cargill at 1-844-419-1574 with questions about the recall.
