Sheikh brand halal sausages recalled for missing refrigeration label and temperature exposure

Alef Sausage Inc. is recalling about 61,574 pounds of Sheikh brand halal beef and chicken sausages sold in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The packages are missing a label telling consumers to keep them refrigerated, which means they may have been stored or transported at unsafe temperatures. No illnesses have been reported so far.
- Do not eat these products if you have them
- Throw away the sausages or return them to the store where you bought them
- Look for vacuum-sealed packages labeled 'Sheikh' with varieties like Beef Salami, Tashentskaya Salami, Beef Cervelat, Lamb Premium, Beef Bologna, or Chicken Premium marked 'ZABIHA HALAL'
- Check for establishment number 'EST. 21174' or 'EST. P-21174' inside the USDA inspection seal
