Rochester Meat Company pork sausage recalled for undeclared MSG

Check Rochester Meat Company pork sausage for MSG

Rochester Meat Company recalled about 13,330 pounds of raw pork sausage patties and links produced between November 2016 and February 2017 because the packages do not list monosodium glutamate (MSG) as an ingredient, even though it is present in the product. This is a labeling error, not a safety contamination.

  • Check your freezer for Rochester Meat Company pork sausage with box codes 10012724390418, 10012724390517, 1002724390029, 1002724390036, or 1002724391002
  • Look for "EST. 8999" stamped inside the USDA inspection circle on the package
  • If you have an affected product and are sensitive to MSG, do not eat it
  • Throw out the product or return it to your retailer
