TorTrix pork rinds recalled for unauthorized import from Guatemala
Do not eat TorTrix pork rinds
Distribuidora El Paisano Import LLC recalled approximately 1,715 pounds of TorTrix brand pork rinds (chicharrón) imported from Guatemala. The product was imported illegally—Guatemala is not an authorized country for meat exports to the United States. The products lack USDA inspection marks and were distributed to stores in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and Rhode Island.
- Do not eat this product if you have it at home.
- Throw away the product or return it to the store where you bought it.
- Look for 5.3 oz (150g) foil packages labeled 'TorTrix Con Chicharrón' with no USDA establishment number or inspection seal.
- Call the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888-674-6854 with questions.
