Check your jerky for undeclared soy allergen

Whiskey Hill Smokehouse LLC recalled approximately 22,466 pounds of beef, venison, and ostrich jerky products because the labels do not list soy as an ingredient, even though soy is present in the products. The affected jerky was produced between March 2016 and March 2017 under brand names including Bakke Brothers, Painted Hills, Mt. Shadow Foods, Whiskey Hill Smokehouse, and Mauinui.

  • Check any jerky you have at home against the lot numbers and best-by dates listed in the recall notice
  • Do not eat the recalled products if you have a soy allergy or sensitivity
  • Return or discard the recalled jerky
  • Contact Whiskey Hill Smokehouse if you have questions about specific products
