Wolverine Packing Company beef products recalled for possible E. coli O157:H7 contamination
Do not eat Wolverine Packing Company beef
Wolverine Packing Company in Michigan recalled approximately 1.8 million pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. The beef was produced between March 31 and April 18, 2014, and distributed to restaurants in Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, and Ohio. Eleven people in four states became ill after eating the contaminated meat.
- Do not eat beef products with establishment number EST. 2574B and packing dates between 03/31/14 and 04/18/14.
- Throw away or return the recalled products to the store.
- Cook all ground beef to an internal temperature of 160°F using a meat thermometer.
- Seek medical care immediately if you experience diarrhea, bloody stools, abdominal cramps, or decreased urination.
