Chaparros Mexican Foods Inc. in Vista, California recalled approximately 568,503 pounds of beef products sold under the "Alberto's Meat Shop" label because they contain hydrolyzed milk protein—a known allergen—that was not listed on the package. The affected products were produced between November 1, 2013 and May 15, 2014 and were sold to restaurants and food processors in Southern California.

  • Check your freezer for beef products labeled "Alberto's Meat Shop" produced between Nov. 1, 2013 and May 15, 2014.
  • Do not serve or consume these products if anyone in your household has a milk allergy.
  • Discard the product or return it to your supplier.
  • If you or someone else has an allergic reaction, contact your healthcare provider or poison control.
