Lakes Farm Raised Catfish recalled for harmful chemical contamination
Do not eat Lakes Farm Raised Catfish products
Lakes Farm Raised Catfish Inc. is recalling about 1,695 pounds of frozen catfish fillets, nuggets, steaks, and whole catfish produced between March 14–17, 2017. Testing found unsafe levels of two chemicals (malachite green and leucomalachite green) in the products. No illnesses have been reported so far.
- Check your freezer for Lakes Farm Raised Catfish with lot codes T-14, T-15, T-16, or T-17 and EST. 48150 on the package.
- Do not eat these products.
- Throw the products away or return them to the store where you bought them.
- Call your doctor if you or anyone in your family gets sick after eating this catfish.
