Fuitland American Meat beef products recalled for incomplete spinal cord removal

Don't eat Fuitland American Meat beef products

Fuitland American Meat recalled approximately 4,012 pounds of fresh beef products because spinal cord tissue may not have been completely removed. Federal law requires this tissue to be removed from cattle over 30 months old because it can carry BSE (mad cow disease). The affected products are Rain Crow Ranch ribeye steaks and bulk beef carcass pieces produced between September 2013 and April 2014.

  • Check if you have any Rain Crow Ranch ribeye steaks in 40-lb boxes (EST. 2316) with production dates from 9/5/13 to 4/25/14
  • Do not eat the product if you have it
  • Throw away or return recalled beef to where you bought it
  • Contact your doctor if you ate this beef and have any health concerns
