Throw out recalled canned roast beef with gravy

Crider Foods recalled approximately 684,774 pounds of canned roast beef with gravy products sold under multiple brand names (Hargis House, Clover Valley, Kroger, Hostess, Laura Lynn, Armour, and Harvest Creek) because they may contain unsafe levels of lead from a contaminated spice mix supplied by an outside vendor. The affected cans were produced in October 2020 and March 2021. No illnesses have been reported.

  • Check your pantry for 12-oz. cans with "EST. 31812" on the label and a best-by date of 10/10/2022, 10/22/2022, or 3/15/2023
  • Do not eat the product
  • Throw away the cans or return them to the store where you bought them
  • Call 1-888-674-6854 (USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline) with questions
