Dean & Peeler Meatworks ground beef recalled for possible E. coli O157:H7

Do not eat Dean & Peeler ground beef

Dean & Peeler Meatworks recalled approximately 1,835 pounds of fresh ground beef products, including Peeler Farms and R-C Ranch brands, produced on August 22, 2023, due to possible E. coli O157:H7 contamination. The contamination was discovered during lab testing. These products were shipped to restaurants in the San Antonio, Texas area.

  • If you have any of these products, throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
  • Do not serve or eat the recalled ground beef.
  • Cook all ground beef to 160°F (use a food thermometer) to kill harmful bacteria.
  • If you have symptoms of E. coli infection (bloody diarrhea, severe cramps, or decreased urine output), seek emergency medical care immediately.
