Cargill ground beef recalled for blue thread contamination
Don't eat Meadowland Farms ground beef patties
Cargill Meat Solutions recalled about 8,294 pounds of ground beef products because blue thread (made of cotton and plastic) was found in production equipment. The affected Meadowland Farms ground beef patties were produced on April 6, 2015, and sold in Connecticut and Maryland. No illnesses have been reported.
- Check your freezer for Meadowland Farms 85% Lean Ground Beef 1/3 LB. Patties with a use or freeze date of April 18, 2015, and EST. 9400 on the package
- Do not eat the product; throw it away or return it to the store
- Call Cargill at 1-877-596-4069 if you have questions
