Haring Catfish catfish products recalled for gentian violet contamination
Don't eat Haring Catfish products with Lot Code 2140
Haring Catfish, Inc. recalled approximately 21,521 pounds of catfish products (tails, steaks, filets, and whole fish) produced on June 28–29, 2016, because they may contain gentian violet, a chemical dye that poses a health concern. The contamination was discovered during routine USDA testing on July 11, 2016. No illnesses have been reported so far.
- Check packages for Haring Catfish brand and Lot Code 2140
- Do not eat these products
- Throw away affected catfish or return it to the store where you bought it
